Hi, I'm Kate.

I'm an independent author writing dark fantasy romance as K. Valemont, from Edmonton, Alberta.

I love stories where the magic has a price, the characters are messy and complicated, and love shows up in the most dangerous places. My books are about heartbreak, but they're also about the long, hard road back from it.

Why dark fantasy romance?

Because the best love stories are the ones that should not work. Put two people in a world full of old magic and older grudges, make them want something they cannot have, and see who they become. Dark fantasy gives the stakes teeth. Romance gives the story a heart worth breaking.
